The museum
It is a museum of the Lebanese plastic art and Melkite oriental icons. This site was established in 1918 by a French family at the beginning of the mandate period. In 1948, it was transformed into a park and a restaurant. It is now a museum of the art of drawing and painting. It contains about 700 paintings by distinguished Lebanese artists and 250 Melkite oriental icons.
