The art venue
STATION is a hybrid cultural center dedicated to art projects with a social practice. Founded in 2013 by filmmaker Nabil Canaan and visual artist Leila Alaoui, the Beirut venue is located in a reimagined wood factory on the city’s lower east side. STATION presents a critical, contextually relevant and accessible program of contemporary visual culture and live arts alongside capacity building and community development activities. We collaborate with a range of stakeholders, from artists and curators to international platforms and social justice advocacy groups. With over 500 cultural happenings organized in Lebanon and internationally, STATION is today recognized as one of the premier venues for progressive cultural experiences in and from the region.
